Compensation: $85,000 per year + kilometer allowance + tool allowance

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled, self-motivated Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong plumbing expertise to join our growing property management and maintenance team. This position is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who enjoys a variety of work and can independently handle maintenance, repairs, and light renovation projects across a portfolio of apartment buildings.
The successful candidate will be based in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and will travel to properties throughout Southwestern Ontario within approximately a 1.5-hour service radius.
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, fixtures, drains, toilets, faucets, water lines, and related systems.
· Complete unit turnover renovations and repairs.
· Drywall patching and repairs.
· Painting and finishing.
· Flooring installation and repairs.
· Trim and door repairs.
· Cabinet and hardware installation.
· Perform general building maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Complete seasonal maintenance tasks, including weather-related property preparation and upkeep.
· Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
· Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and property damage.
· Identify deficiencies and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
· Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
· Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
· Strong plumbing knowledge and hands-on repair experience.
· Proven experience in general building maintenance, renovations, or handyman services.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
· Valid Ontario driver’s license with a reliable personal vehicle.
· Ability to travel regularly throughout the service area.
· Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical work in residential environments.
· Experience working in apartment buildings, residential properties, or property management environments (preferred).
· Knowledge of electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general renovation work (preferred).
· Trade certifications are considered an asset but are not required.
Tools & Vehicle Requirements
· Must provide own vehicle initially.
· Kilometer allowance will be provided for business-related travel.
· Must provide own hand tools.
· Tool allowance will be provided to support job requirements.
