Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support the daily routine for an individual child. The ideal candidate will assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for this child. This role involves working closely with educators, the child, and the child's family to promote early childhood development and ensure a positive learning experiences. Prior experience working with challenging behaviours and a passion for working with children are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Working directly with the child and helping them learn routines, navigate transitions, and working on social interactions.
- Provide caregiving support to the child, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the day.
- Help the child with personal needs such as feeding, toileting, and dressing as required.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social skills and emotional growth.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and play areas as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding the child's progress and needs.
Qualifications
- Prior daycare experience or working with behavioural children is necessary.
- Diploma or certificate (level 2 or 3) in Early Childhood Education is required.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
- Strong ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators and families.
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is mandatory.
Pay: $25.41-$29.28 per hour
