Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Boom Truck Operator to join our oilfield service/transport company in Bonnyville and surrounding area. This role involves operating boom trucks and related equipment to assist with lifting, rigging, and material handling on various oilfield projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with crane operations, mechanical systems, and excellent communication skills to ensure smooth project execution and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate boom trucks and crane equipment safely to lift, move, and position materials at oilfield sites.
- Perform rigging duties, including attaching loads securely and ensuring proper load distribution.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on boom truck machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with team members and site supervisors to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment as needed, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate documentation of operations, inspections, and any incidents or issues encountered.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating boom trucks, cranes, or similar heavy lifting equipment.
- Valid certification for crane preferred; mechanical knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to perform rigging tasks safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of oilfield site safety protocols and procedures preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Excellent customer service skills to coordinate effectively with clients and team members.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy loads.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions and adhere to all safety regulations throughout the workday.
Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
