Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist
Academie Duello is hiring a part-time (up to 30.5 hours) front desk receptionist. This role will include front desk and store customer service and administration, support for Adventure bookings taking place on the training floors, assisting walk-in customers, and possibly training to become an instructor on the Sundays shift for walk-in customers interested in our Adventure bookings in swordplay, archery, and axe-throwing.

Our work environment is fun, active, and fast-paced. We are looking for someone who is warm, friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with a wide range of customers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, confident speaking in front of groups, and able to shift smoothly between front desk duties, customer inquiries, bookings, retail sales, and hands-on activity instruction.
Summary of Job DutiesFront Desk & Customer Service
- Create a warm and welcoming environment at the front desk for Adventure booking customers, student members, and walk-ins
- Greet customers and explain programs, classes, courses, and Adventure bookings
- Book customers into programs, classes, courses, and Adventure bookings
- Respond to phone and email inquiries in a polite, clear, and timely manner
- Support Adventure bookings instructors as needed with setup, customer facility orientation, customer flow, payments, and cleanup
- Sell items from our retail store and perform daily sales and cash-out procedures
- Liaise between instructors, students, customers, and management as needed
Adventure Bookings Instruction (for hires deemed suitable)
- Receive training in our Adventure bookings for swordplay, archery, and axe-throwing
- Lead groups through fun, safe, and engaging introductory activities
- Speak clearly and confidently in front of groups
- Help create a positive, memorable experience for parties, teams, casual visitors, and private groups
- Follow safety procedures and instructional guidelines
- Support setup, cleanup, and coordination for bookings and events
- Assist with walk-in bookings and same-day customer inquiries
Store & Front Desk Maintenance
- Keep the store tidy, clean, attractively arranged, and restocked
- Maintain the tidiness of the front desk, cabinets, stock closet, and supplies
- Help maintain a professional and welcoming front-of-house environment
- Take out recycling and garbage as needed
Miscellaneous
- Help with housekeeping, events, parties, and other projects as needed
Skill Requirements
Must be experienced or skilled at the following:
- Office and administrative experience
- Experience with Workspace or Google Suite
- Strong communication skills, including timely communication with staff
- Warm, friendly, calm, polite, and helpful customer service manner
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizing skills
- Ability to shift between tasks while keeping track of details and follow-through in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability and availability for the shifts listed
- Care for personal presentation, appearance, and professional comportment
