Who Are We
We are an outdoor adventure company and Café that provides an adventure experience for all. We supply the people and tools for the adventure. With our Café & Bistro we complete the experience by providing excellent drinks, food and snacks for the adventure and to enjoy in our Bragg Creek location
We are a small team with 6-10 staff members, depending on the season. We are a German company that serves European food. Our adventure shop and restaurant go hand in hand, are run by one team and from the same store front. We provide adventure experiences all year round: biking, skiing, hiking, and fat-biking. We offer lessons, kids camps, and guided adventures on bike and foot.
The Job
We are looking for a motivated and creative Café kitchen team member to join our team, with an interest in European food and café culture. You will have a leading role that combines hands-on kitchen work with menu planning, events, customer service, and providing creative input for European-inspired menu items and events. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment, can manage tasks arising in various orders and is excited to help grow the business through collaboration with the team for thoughtful food concepts and memorable guest experiences.
I am looking for a 4 day min. commitment. You must be free to WORK WEEKENDS , Wednesdays is a bake day where you are responsible for baking some of our pastries.
Roles and Responsibilities
In your position, you will need to bake, cook, bring creativity to the menu, prepare a variety of specialty coffee drinks, alcoholic drinks, and non-alcoholic drinks.
You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth workflow in the kitchen and the front of house. This requires thinking on your feet, working independently, planning and delegating tasks on the go.
As in any kitchen, cleanliness is vital; ensuring a clean workspace along with dishes is a constant task.
You must take pride in providing your best effort and the best quality possible to ensure that we only deliver exceptional food, drinks and experiences for our guests!
You will also be the guiding hand for the younger part-time staff, ensuring productivity and quality of their service to accurately represent the business.
Qualifications & Skills & Prerequisites
- Previous café & kitchen experience required
- Proven baking and cooking experience
- Valid ProServe certification (required)
- Passion for European food, traditional techniques, and modern interpretations
- Interest in menu development, food trends, and cost-conscious creativity
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy café environment
- Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative, be flexible with assigned tasks and contribute creative ideas
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bragg Creek, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Cafe / Restaurant: 2 years (required)
- Team leading: 1 year (preferred)
