RST Industries is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for truck Dispatcher role at our Barrie, ON location. This position will appeal to you, if you like to work in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, is tech savvy, self-starter, and have a high standard for your work.
Shift Schedule:
- Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
- Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Week 3 - Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
- Week 4 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Qualifications:
- Years of Experience Required: minimum 2 years of Truck dispatch experience or the equivalent in training and experience
- Must have in-depth knowledge of transportation safety laws, and regulations
- Must be team-oriented and an independent self-starter with strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Must have effective communication style with excellent time management skills
- Must have outstanding technology and reporting skills
- Ability to calmly and professionally deal with drivers on road issues
- Flexible with time and able to assist drivers and clients after regular work hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to each customer/location
- Manage dispatch, Coordinate, and confirm all loads
- Manage productivity of their fleet, ensuring appropriate level of miles and revenue are generated by Owner/Operators and Drivers considering strict HOS management
- Manage and facilitate the fleet maintenance schedule for Central Canada in liaison with maintenance team
- Ensure all fleet hours/miles, time off information is entered accurately and timely to assist in managing the payroll and billing processes
- Professionally handles and manages all Driver/Owner Operator issues
- Manage availability of Owner/Operators and Drivers and equipment to maximize equipment utilization, create cost saving efficiencies and to exceed customer expectations
- Promote and support all safety initiatives when performing roles and responsibilities
