Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supervisor for the Gatehouse in Vaughan to lead our security operations at the entry point of a busy distribution facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee access control, coordinate security procedures, and ensure smooth gatehouse operations. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily gatehouse activities, including access control for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with safety protocols
- Conduct inspections of personnel and vehicles to prevent theft and unauthorized access
- Manage communication with emergency responders during incidents or security breaches
- Oversee CCTV surveillance, fence checks, yard audits, and conduct visual inspections to maintain site security
- Complete shift reports, incident logs, and maintain accurate records of all gatehouse activities
- Lead and motivate security staff to uphold high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience supervising security personnel
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual skills in French are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with SAP or ERP systems
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), supply chain processes, and 3PL logistics
- Skilled in process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physical tasks as required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management capabilities
- Experience with forklift operation, order picking, packaging, and e-commerce environments is advantageous
- Familiarity with computer science concepts such as Windows OS, AS400 systems, data analysis skills, and analysis techniques
