Proactive is a Canadian based company operating in Canada the USA and Mexico. We offer solutions to our customers entire suite of logistics needs. We operate in excess of 3 million sq ft (300,000 sq m) of warehousing across North America and multiple trucking programs uniquely designed to support our diverse clientele base.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join our team. In this role, your primary function is to sell customer freight solutions. Ensuring a high volume of customer interactions, encompassing prospecting, cold-calling, and closing deals; customer service and account management.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for initiating sales calls to prospective or current clients in the Canadian and Mexico markets
- Prospect for leads and perform heavy cold calling to build a pipeline of businesses
- Supervise accounts daily to retain existing relationships
- Responsible for price and service negotiation with customers and carriers
- Responsible for creating sales goals to aid in achieving targets
- Uphold rapport with clients and prospects
- Nurture new sales leads to secure business
- Responsible for offering quotes to current and prospective clients
- Responsible for supervising shipments until delivery completed to guarantee smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Responsibility of using TMS / CRM, entering shipments, looking for carriers, dispatching and closing files
- Carry out research to identify companies not currently doing business with the organization
- Build relationship and sell to clients through phone or one-on-one.
- Must have experience successfully managing and run a book of business in Mexico and Canadian markets.
- Knowledge of targets and performance metrics - GP and Rev per month/Load count handled
- Transportation brokerage/sales experience, marketing multipart logistical solutions to a wide range of clients.
- Solid understanding of all documentary requirement for transportation including customs clearance requirements.
- Possess a strong track record for delivering successful sales experience in personal selling, telephone sales, and customer service.
- Knowledge of Tradeshow, LTL, FTL and Air Freight, as well as other supply chain management solutions.
Experience
- 5 + years in logistics sales experience.
- Sociable personality with know how at developing relationships.
- MS Office software; good experience with sales automation, customer relationship management, and other web based software programs.
- Ability to independently handle multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Analytical and a problem solver with adequate skillset to handle stressful situations while putting the needs of the customer first.
- Time management and multitasking skills is a must.
