Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures on various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. The successful applicant will contribute to the timely and safe completion of construction projects, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete structures according to project specifications and schematics
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate formwork setup
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely and efficiently during formwork installation and removal
- Perform rebar installation and concrete forming tasks with precision
- Assist with masonry, restoration, flooring installation, and other related construction activities as needed
- Conduct concrete finishing work to achieve desired surface quality
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Perform heavy lifting and handle materials such as wood, steel, and other construction components
Skills
- Strong knowledge of carpentry, concrete forming, masonry, and restoration techniques
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction equipment operation
- Experience with rebar installation, caulking, welding, flooring installation, and concrete finishing
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely along with hand tools and power tools
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Knowledge of renovation processes and construction safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday
- Strong teamwork ethic with good communication skills
