Job Summary
The Visitor Experience Coordinator is a seasonal leadership role focused on delivering mobile visitor services throughout the Cochrane region during the summer tourism season. This position combines frontline visitor engagement with team coordination, scheduling, logistics, and reporting. The successful candidate will help visitors discover local businesses, attractions, events, and experiences while supporting day-to-day operations for the mobile visitor services program.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate weekly schedules for student staff and volunteers using Google Sheets
- Lead and support the mobile visitor services team at events, attractions, and high-traffic locations
- Engage with visitors by sharing local recommendations, tourism information, and community knowledge
- Maintain inventory of brochures, maps, supplies, and event materials
- Coordinate setup logistics with event organizers and venue partners
- Collect and compile visitor statistics and daily reporting data
- Support tourism promotion efforts by directing visitors to local businesses, restaurants, shops, and attractions
- Assist with setup and takedown of mobile visitor service equipment and event tents
- Work independently in outdoor environments and adapt to changing schedules or event needs

- Ability to balance administrative tasks with active field work
- Knowledge of the Cochrane area, local businesses, and attractions is considered an asset
- Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, retail, or customer service is preferred but not required
Requirements
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment (Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirement)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Access to a personal computer for scheduling and administrative tasks
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work outdoors for extended periods
