Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed 443A Millwright Mechanic to support operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment used in manufacturing
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns on tube mills, roll forming lines, presses, conveyors, and material handling systems
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Align, level, and balance rotating equipment (motors, gearboxes, pumps, rollers)
- Perform welding, cutting, torching, and fabrication as required
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, chains, belts, and hydraulic/pneumatic components
- Support equipment changeovers, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and follow CMMS procedures
- Adhere to all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and plant regulations
- Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and production teams
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Ontario 443A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License
- 3+ years of experience in a steel, tubular, pipe, or heavy manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of tube mills, roll forming, and steel processing equipment (preferred)
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and mechanical drives
- Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working in industrial environments
Preferred Skills
- Welding certification (MIG/TIG/Stick)
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Forklift, scissor lift, or overhead crane certification
- Basic machining or fabrication experience
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
