Assembly Technician
Reach Systems – Nanaimo, BC
Reach Systems, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of underwater camera systems and remotely controlled winches, is seeking applications for an Assembly Technician.
This is an active, hands-on position that works closely with engineers, machinists, and other assembly personnel. Duties and responsibilities include:
- assembling products and sub-assemblies, including tether cables, subsea cameras, cable winches, and custom-engineered robotics
- testing products against quality standards
- creating digital records and documentation of manufacture, assembly, testing, and verification.
Qualifications:
- High school completion
- Soldering skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Fine motor skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Familiar with/experience in electronics and related skills
- Assembly skills and experience are an asset
- Comfortable with typical assembly shop tools and equipment, and measuring tools
- Familiarity with digital documentation and records
- Ability to work with a team and independently
- Desire to learn and perform machining tasks
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow drawings, schematics, and diagrams
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use relevant tools and equipment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Good manual dexterity; hand-eye coordination
- Safe work practices and safety awareness.

Compensation: Based on qualifications and experience (anticipated wage range is $23-29 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience).
