JOB SUMMARY
The Content Producer is responsible for performing a range of activities with respect to Canadian Talk programming on SiriusXM. These duties include the creation, development and production of live and pre-recorded programs, features and special events, as well as contributing to the scheduling, coordination, and development of each program.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Programming:
- Plan, organize and evaluate programming and content as part of the Talk programming category.
- Work with on-air talent and technical producers to continually monitor, develop and improve programming.
- Develop new programming and continually monitor standards to support growth and listener experience.
- Evaluate current talent and show strategies and develop new opportunities for talent and programming.
- Collaborate with broader production team to coordinate all programming functions, share ideas and efficiencies.
- Attend industry conferences and events on behalf of SiriusXM, as assigned; share learnings and updates.
Production:
- Plan, organize and coordinate production of broadcast programs.
- Determine treatment, scope, and scheduling of production, including recording and assembling content.
- Edit audio as required, using Adobe Audition or other industry standard tools.
- Ensure all production elements, including audio clips and promos, is current, creative, and appropriate.
- Coordinate use of available guests related to broadcast content, both in-studio and remote.
- Copywriting and editing scripts for broadcast; assist with special features and research as required.
- Contribute to social media ideas and planning.
- Participate in group meetings; prepare status updates as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including writing/producing feature material, daily updates and blog posts.
Technical:
- Respond to malfunctions in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor content for digital, in-app, on demand and other platforms as required.
- Notify broadcast operations personnel of need for equipment repair or other technical issues.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Level of Education:
- Completion of a post-secondary broadcasting arts program, media, or related studies.
Job Related Experience:
- 5+ years’ relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in live and pre-recorded broadcast production.
- Bilingualism (French/English) an asset, but not required.
Skills and Background:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Audition.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Monday.com, etc.).
- Ability to operate audio equipment used for live programs and broadcasts an asset.

This position is frequently called upon to reach agreement with others in order to complete work activities; requires presenting a point of view at times and influence others to adopt a course of action.
