SUMMARY
The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for safe and efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of materials and products within the warehouse or production facility. This role involves operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods, ensuring that inventory is maintained and organized in a timely and accurate manner. The Forklift Operator will also contribute to the overall maintenance of a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

- Sun - Wed (06:00PM to 06:00AM), possible Thu and/or Fri

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Stow and receive shipments accurately and efficiently
- Drive trucks and forklifts to load and unload products
- Operate equipment to stock and organize inventory in the warehouse
- Verify quantities shipped and received, ensuring accuracy
- Package, box, and wrap products for shipment, ensuring they are secure and meet quality standards
- Adjust inventory levels as necessary and report discrepancies to the supervisor
- Transport products within the plant using forklifts or reach trucks when required
- Move pallets and cases around the warehouse to maintain organization and ensure timely shipping/receiving
- Verify inventory levels and advise the supervisor when stock is insufficient
- Keep accurate records of shipments and deliveries
- Perform daily maintenance checks on trucks and forklifts, ensuring safety compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and on transportation vehicles
- Assist with housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe and orderly working environment
- Assist in performing monthly inventory counts and audits to ensure stock accuracy
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report safety hazards and safety-related issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, SOPs, GMPs, and other safety standards and company policies
- Maintain warehouse security and assist in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed
- Assist with the delivery of raw material components for processing when needed.
- Ensure adequate supplies are on hand, including boxes, shrink wrap, etc.
- Communicate any issues with shipments, truck maintenance, or non-routine problems to the supervisor.
- Participate in all relevant training sessions and maintain up-to-date certifications as required by the company
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years experience operating a forklift
- Valid Forklift or Lift Truck Certification is required.
- Food Safety and HACCP certifications are preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic computer skills (e.g. data entry, using inventory software)
- Demonstrated team player with ability to learn quickly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in a multi-cultural environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 52 lbs (25 kg) regularly and perform repetitive lifting, bending, and reaching motions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours per shift).
- Must be able to work in areas with temperature fluctuations (coolers, loading docks, etc.) and tolerate standing or walking on concrete floors.
- Ability to work with machinery and equipment requiring manual dexterity and precision.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is on-site, with coverage required at one location: North York.
- Frequent exposure to noise from machinery, forklifts, and truck loading/unloading operations.
- Require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Moderate to high pace environment with frequent interruptions, coordination with multiple departments, and strict adherence to shipping deadlines.
