Production Lead Hand

Compensation: $24.50/hour to start
Schedule: Day Shift – 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with flexibility for daily overtime and weekend work as required
About the Role
Worklynx Recruitment Inc. is currently hiring a Production Lead Hand for one of our clients in the food manufacturing industry located in Etobicoke, Ontario.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting daily production activities, coordinating workflow, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met, and leading a production team in a fast-paced meat processing environment. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with strong knowledge of food production processes and the ability to motivate and support team members while maintaining production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate a motorized walkie to transport raw materials from cooler and freezer storage to production areas.
· Support daily production activities, including bending, lifting, de-boxing, and unwrapping meat products to prepare production lines.
· Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operating instructions.
· Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with the Maintenance team when support is required.
· Produce products according to customer specifications and Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) standards.
· Complete in-process quality checks and all required production documentation.
· Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), labeling requirements, product specifications, and work-in-process controls.
· Communicate daily production requirements and priorities to production staff.
· Provide frontline leadership, coaching, and support to team members.
· Escalate production, quality, or staffing concerns to the Production Supervisor as needed.
· Promote a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience in the food manufacturing and/or meat processing industry.
· Butchery experience is considered a strong asset.
· Experience operating meat cutting, forming, or packaging machinery is required.
· Minimum 2 years of frontline leadership or team lead experience.
· Valid motorized walkie license.
· Strong understanding of food safety regulations, GMPs, and production documentation.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Professional, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Wage: $24.50/hour
Wage Progression
· After 3 months (successful completion of probation): +$0.50/hour
· After 6 months (based on performance): +$0.50/hour
· After 12 months: +$0.50/hour
