Class 1 Dump Truck Driver / Equipment Hauler
Coastal Wolf Construction Ltd. is looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our growing civil construction team based out of Victoria, BC.
We specialize in underground utilities, earthworks, road construction, and municipal infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia.
We are currently hiring for a project on Denny Island, BC, running from September through December 2026. This position will work a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation, with Living Out Allowance (LOA) while working away. Upon successful completion of the project, there is an opportunity for continued year-round employment on projects throughout Vancouver Island, and BC
Responsibilities
- Operate tandem and truck & pup dump trucks
- Haul aggregates, excavation materials, and construction equipment
- Safely tow excavators, skid steers, rollers, and other heavy equipment
- Self-load using excavators and wheel loaders
- Complete daily pre-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance
- Secure loads and equipment in accordance with CVSE regulations
- Assist construction crews as required
Qualifications
- Valid BC Class 1 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Clean driver's abstract
- Experience towing equipment trailers
- Experience self-loading with excavators and wheel loaders
- Knowledge of equipment load securement requirements
- Comfortable working around heavy equipment and active construction sites
- Willing and able to work out of town on a rotational schedule
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety
Preferred Experience
- Civil construction experience
- Lowbed or heavy equipment hauling experience
- WHMIS and CSTS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Mechanical aptitude
