QUALIFICATIONS:
Definition:
The qualifications section for this position was developed using the approved job evaluation plan, agreed to between the BCGEU and BCIT. Education:
- Completion of Grade 12, plus completion of a two-year diploma program in non-print media production, including digital video and multimedia production.
License(s) / certification(s):
Experience:
- Two years of general experience, plus a minimum of five-years’ professional experience in video, audio, graphics and digital multi-media technologies, two years of which experience is working with post-secondary students and faculty
Software/Computer Application(s) and Expertise:
- Demonstrated ability in Windows and Macintosh computer applications used in media production, digital editing and post-production; 3D modeling, scanning, and 3D print slicing.
- Experience with at least 2 of the following: web design, multimedia, video/ audio production, 3D design, 3D scanning, laser-cutting software, and technology training/teaching.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of maker space concepts and technologies (especially 3D printing), Augmented and Virtual Reality systems, and other emerging technologies.
Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills to consult and advice clients on projects.
- Must be a team player, with demonstrated ability to work in the dual role of project participant and project leader.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to understand and articulate the vision of the production/item the student is working on.
- Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and ability to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
