Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee railway, bridge, and heavy civil construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project planning, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of railway, bridge, and infrastructure construction projects.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee procurement, contract management, and change orders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Prepare project reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Lead project meetings and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
- 5+ years of project management experience in construction, infrastructure, or transportation projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing railway construction projects.
- Experience with bridge rehabilitation, bridge construction, or heavy civil structures.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will be given preference:
- Railway track construction and maintenance.
- Bridge design, rehabilitation, or replacement projects.
- Heavy civil construction.
- Transportation infrastructure projects.
- Public sector or industrial construction environments.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in active rail environments and familiarity with railway safety regulations.
- Experience overseeing bridge construction, rehabilitation, or inspection projects.
- Knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and infrastructure project delivery.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel frequently to project sites.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position requires regular travel to active construction sites, railway corridors, bridge structures, and project locations. The successful candidate must be able to:
- Available to working remotely when required
- Work safely in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
- Walk, climb, and navigate uneven terrain, construction sites, railway rights-of-way, embankments, and bridge structures.
- Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and access equipment as required for site inspections.
- Stand and walk for extended periods during field visits and project inspections.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and fall-protection equipment when required.
- Work in proximity to operating heavy equipment, construction activities, and active railway operations while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Travel to project sites and attend meetings at various locations as required.
- Maintain the physical ability to access remote project locations and conduct site inspections safely.

Experience:
