$26.20 to $37.62 per hour ($47,684.00 to $68,468.40 per annum)

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Post secondary training such as completion of a Community College course in a related discipline is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three years of experience in media production, including audio recording, podcast production, video editing, and film production required.
- Experience working with audiovisual equipment such as cameras, microphones, and recording/editing software required.
- Experience supporting or working in a media lab, studio, educational environment or production setting preferred.
- Experience supporting software installations, updates, and maintenance in a lab or multi-user environment, including ensuring licensing compliance and system functionality preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to users of varying levels of experience required.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with Faculty, Staff, and Students to provide quality customer service is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across audiovisual equipment, media production tools, and computer-based systems required.
- Ability to support and adapt to evolving software applications used in media production, teaching and postproduction required.
- Strong audiovisual production skills, particularly in audio recording, editing, postcast production and related media workflows required.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage competing priorities required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new computer hardware and software is essential.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
- Oversee daily operations of the Media Lab, including opening and closing procedures, monitoring equipment performance, and ensuring smooth access and support for all users.
- Collaborate with the LAN Coordinator and Academic Director to assess technology needs and make recommendations for purchasing new equipment.
- Responsible for answering phone inquiries, managing access to equipment, and scheduling of the lab to maintain fair and appropriate access.
- Provide training and guidance to Student Office Assistants/Student Technicians.
- Organize and maintain digital resources ensuring preservation, cataloging, and ease of retrieval.
- Track, manage, and account for capital assests, including the sign in and out process for lab equipment.
- Support the Academic Director with maintaining and updating Media Lab web content and associated social media platforms.
- Provide direct technical support to students, staff, and other Media Lab users.
- Provide training and support to Media Lab users on the use of equipment and existing technologies.
- Support course delivery requiring specialized media equipment, including cameras; lighting systems, microphones, and editing software installed in the lab.
- Assist with onboarding and training for new software tools, systems, and lab procedures.
- Collaborate with Arts IT specialists to deliver instruction and support across a range of software and hardware platforms.
- Maintain lab equipment, ensuring all hardware and software is functioning effectively.
- Monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues related to lab systems, equipment, and technology.
- Perform hardware and software updates and ensure compliance with all software licensing agreements.
- Work with Arts IT specialists to ensure Media Lab computer systems are secure and appropriately configured.
- Partner with Arts IT for coverage and support as required.
- Research and evaluate new technologies that may support the Media Lab and users.
- Organize, create, and lead workshops within the Media Lab on technical skills and support user learning
- Other duties as assigned.
