We are looking for a Journeyman/woman Mechanic to join our team!
Shift Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:00PM
We are in search of a certified professional Journeyman/woman who has completed their apprenticeship, comfortable working independently, and able to handle complex vehicle and machinery repairs. You will be joining our current mechanical team to keep our fleet vehicles in tip top shape. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
- Repair or replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, and operators regarding repair status and maintenance recommendations.
- Able to balance and repair, brakes, steering and vehicle electrical systems
- Use available computers and specialty equipment to test vehicle parts
- Upkeep vehicle maintenance, such as regular tune ups, oil changes etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-year experience
- Journeyman ticket required
- Red Seal Licensed Technician
- Experience maintaining diesel, gas and electric vehicle fleet
- CVP Inspector certificate an asset
- CNG experience an asset
- Class 1 or 3 driver's license an asset
- Competent in diagnosing and making repairs to fleet trucks and trailers in a safe and timely manner
- Must supply own tools appropriate for the position.
