Roman Building Materials is looking for a Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative to join our team to help with the day to day operations.
This role is to manage the overall operations of the Dispatch Centre and to monitor the fleet to ensure that operations run smooth and efficient.
Shift: 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 6:00am to 2:00pm one Saturday a month.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatching of trucks to various locations and using GPS systems to monitor locations and report to customers.
- Obtains customer orders
- Price out any COD calls that come in.
- Schedule and organize the dispatching of trucks on a timely basis.
- Driver schedules (start/finish times)
- Continuous follow ups with driver to ensure that trucks are loaded with appropriate materials.
- Ensure that all drivers are in for their appropriate starting time.
- Use radio, phone or computer to send vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations
- Monitor the route and status of various vehicles and field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
- Provide drivers with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
- Entering of inbound and outbound tickets.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education including Basic Mathematical skills.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Problem and complaint resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with team and customers.
- Multi-task and meet tight job / task deadlines.
- Customer service orientation – professional and responsive.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong understanding of the geographical region of the Greater Toronto Area is a position requirement for a local position
- Familiar with the GTA
