Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas within the child care centre, including classrooms, play areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and common spaces
- Use commercial cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively to maintain hygiene standards
- Conduct routine facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor fixtures, and reporting larger repairs needed
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a sanitized environment
- Maintain organized storage of cleaning supplies and equipment while adhering to environmental sustainability practices
- Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleans as scheduled or required after activities or events
- Ensure all cleaning activities are completed efficiently without disrupting daily centre operations or children's routines
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques suitable for environments with young children to ensure safety and hygiene is preferred
- Familiarity with using various cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment safely and responsibly
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines accurately
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
