Bartender
Job Overview
Slabtown Armoury is seeking an enthusiastic and professional Bartender to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences by providing outstanding service, preparing quality beverages and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming bar. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service while building rapport with guests.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using Silverware and Clover POS systems.
- Maintain knowledge of our food, beer, wine, cider, cocktail and spirits menus to confidently make recommendations.
- Verify identification and serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with Smart Serve and AGCO regulations.
- Process cash, debit and credit transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
- Complete opening, closing and side duties, including stocking, polishing glassware and preparing garnishes.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation and workplace health & safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff and management to ensure seamless service.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and assist in creating a positive dining experience.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar preferred.
- Valid Smart Serve Certification required.
- Knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience using POS systems is an asset.
- Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
