Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting physiotherapists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves working closely with patients to assist them in their rehabilitation journey, ensuring they receive the best possible support during their recovery process. The Physiotherapy Assistant will work primarily in a hospital or clinical setting, focusing on acute care environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.
- Help patients with exercises and therapeutic activities, ensuring proper techniques are followed.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes to the supervising physiotherapist.
- Educate patients on home exercise programs and self-care techniques to enhance recovery.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to physiotherapy and patient care.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, particularly within acute care environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion while providing patient care.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when documenting patient progress and maintaining treatment areas.
- Physical stamina to assist patients during therapy sessions and perform necessary tasks throughout the day.
