Valley Family Optometry is growing, and we’re looking for an exceptional Optician/ Optometric Assistant to join our friendly, collaborative, and patient-focused team.

This role combines patient care, education, customer service, and optical expertise in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients with frame and lens selection
- Educating patients on eyewear and visual solutions
- Optical dispensing, adjustments, and repairs
- Troubleshooting patient concerns
- Supporting frame inventory and ordering
- Cross-training in front desk and pre-testing duties
- Helping create an exceptional patient experience
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm, outgoing, and personable
- Professional and dependable
- Adaptable and eager to learn
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Organized and able to multitask in a busy environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an optometry or optical setting preferred
- Post-secondary education considered an asset
- Previous retail or customer service experience is beneficial
- CCOA certification or Licensed Optician designation preferred
- Full-time: 35–40 hours/week
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm
- Primarily based in Kingston
- Some shifts at our New Minas location may occasionally be required
