About the Role
Come join our team as a Concrete Labourer at Rockport Commercial! This role entails assisting with site preparation, concrete placement, and finishing work on residential and commercial projects. We’re looking for someone who brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate should have a eager willingness to learn and grow in the trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform layout work according to project plans and specific measurements.
- Set and align concrete forms to proper grade, level, height, and other specifications.
- Tie and secure rebar as required.
- Set up and take down scaffolding safely and efficiently.
- Prepare job sites for concrete pours, including grading, compacting, and staging materials.
- Assist with pouring, spreading, and finishing concrete.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and others.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and job sites to ensure a safe working environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with crew members, supervisors, and other trades to keep projects moving smoothly.
What You’ll Need
- Previous construction or concrete experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions year-round.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle to get to job sites.
- Ability to follow directions and read basic measurements.
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
