Interior Designer (Contract) – Part-Time with Full-Time Potential

Pluto Home Designs is a luxury residential interior design studio specializing in timeless, high-end homes. We are looking for a talented Interior Designer to join our team on a contract basis, with the opportunity to grow into a part-time or full-time position as our studio expands.
We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about creating exceptional design documentation.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for producing professional drawing packages and assisting throughout the design process, including:
- Full interior design drawing packages
- Construction drawings
- Millwork shop drawings
- Cabinet fabrication drawings
- Lighting plans
- Finish schedules
- FF&E specifications
- Installation details
- High-quality 3D renderings
- Revisions throughout the design process
- Coordination with architects, builders, cabinet makers, and trades as required
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
- Experience with SketchUp and rendering software (Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or similar)
- Strong understanding of residential construction detailing and custom millwork
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who enjoys designing luxury residential spaces and understands the importance of producing accurate, thoughtful construction documentation. You should be dependable, organized, and excited to grow with a boutique design studio.
Applicants located in Surrey or the Lower Mainland are preferred, as occasional site visits, client meetings, and collaboration may be required.
Experience with custom homes is a strong asset.
