Quality Technician

About the Opportunity
Our client is a well established precision machining and fabrication company serving the aerospace, wind energy and other high precision manufacturing industries. They are seeking a Quality Technician to join their team and help ensure every component meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in process and final inspections of machined components.
- Inspect parts using vernier calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring equipment.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances and surface finishes.
- Record inspection results and complete quality documentation.
- Identify non conforming product and assist with corrective actions.
- Work closely with machinists and production personnel to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience as a Quality Technician or Quality Inspector in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient using vernier calipers, micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
- Experience operating or interpreting reports from a CMM is mandatory.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
- Knowledge of GD&T is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace, precision machining or metal manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with AS9100D and ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience inspecting tight tolerance machined components.
