Service Technician – Agricultural Equipment
$20–$35/hour based on experience and skill level
Dunnville Agri Systems Inc. is looking for a hands-on Service Technician who enjoys solving mechanical problems, working independently, and helping farmers keep their operations running.
This is a varied, field-based role where no two days are exactly the same. You may spend one day troubleshooting a manure pump in the shop, the next repairing equipment on a customer farm, and another installing or servicing feeding, housing, or grain-handling systems.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Diagnose and repair equipment such as:
- Manure pumps, scrapers, and separators
- Animal feeding and housing systems
- Grain systems
- Other agricultural and industrial equipment
- Use manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify problems and determine effective repairs
- Perform welding and fabrication when required
Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance
- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new or rebuilt equipment
- Identify potential issues before they become costly breakdowns
On-Farm Service:
- Travel to customer farms to perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Work directly with customers to understand problems and provide practical solutions
- Work in active agricultural environments around livestock, machinery, and operating farm equipment
- Provide professional and helpful customer service
Documentation & Teamwork:
- Complete daily work orders and service reports
- Accurately record labour, parts used, and service details
- Work closely with the parts department to identify and source required parts
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, and shop equipment
- Support and mentor junior team members when needed
What We're Looking For:
- 2–5 years of experience in agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or mechanical repair
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage service jobs in the field
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and getting the job done safely and professionally

- Agricultural equipment or farm systems
- Manure systems
- Grain handling equipment
- Livestock housing or feeding systems
- Welding and fabrication
- Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting
Working Conditions
This is a hands-on service role in real agricultural environments. The position involves:
- Working indoors and outdoors year-round
- Exposure to livestock areas, manure systems, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Physical work including lifting, climbing, kneeling, and using hand and power tools
- Occasional work at heights or in confined spaces
- Following farm biosecurity procedures when visiting multiple customer locations
Seasonal workloads may require overtime, occasional weekend work, or emergency service calls.
