About the Role

You'll manage your own portfolio of customer accounts, analyze account histories, negotiate realistic payment solutions, and gain valuable exposure to legal and financial recovery processes. Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts
- Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements
- Review account histories and recommend appropriate resolutions
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and settlement agreements
- Process bankruptcies and consumer proposals
- Conduct skip tracing and asset verification where required
- Maintain accurate documentation and account records
- Collaborate with team members to achieve recovery objectives
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
- Recent graduate or 1+ year of experience in collections, legal, financial services, or customer service is an asset
- Valid G or G2 Driver's Licence
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable learning new software and using Microsoft Office
- Paralegal or Law Clerk education is considered an asset, but not required
- Knowledge of collections legislation is an asset
