Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Grade 6 Humanities Teacher to inspire and guide students through their exploration of history, geography, social studies, and related subjects. Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in history, geography, and social studies for Grade 6 students
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and respect among students of diverse backgrounds
- Utilize various instructional strategies and educational technologies to enhance learning experiences
- Assess student progress regularly through assignments, projects, tests, and observations; provide constructive feedback to support growth
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support individual student needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or with disabilities
- Incorporate instruction in English to promote language proficiency and cultural understanding
- Maintain organized records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral reports using Microsoft Office tools or other educational software
- Support students’ social-emotional development by implementing classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement
- Paragraph writing and reading
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences or related field; teaching certification required for Grade 6 level
- Proven classroom experience working with children in an educational setting; experience with early childhood education is a plus
- Strong knowledge of curriculum content including history, geography, social studies, and related subjects
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and needs
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education programs preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and educational technology tools for lesson planning and student assessment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts as needed
- Knowledge of computer skills relevant to classroom instruction and administrative tasks

Pay: $68,850.00-$115,566.00 per year
