Polyson Polyethylene Products (1986) Ltd. is a family-owned manufacturer with over 40 years of excellence in polyethylene packaging products in the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bag Machine Setup Technician to join our production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up bag machines for operation (changeovers, tooling adjustments, material threading/setup) to produce high-quality polyethylene bags and packaging.
- Perform make-ready and precise adjustments to achieve consistent output.
- Monitor quality throughout the run, making real-time adjustments to meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, quality, and electrical problems quickly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on bag equipment.
- Ensure traceability forms are accurately completed (including production logs, batch records, and documentation for quality and compliance).
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily/weekly output targets and deadlines.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bag machine setup/operator (minimum 1 year on bag making machines; specific setup experience strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of bag converting processes, materials, and adjustments.
- Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills; experience troubleshooting electrical issues is an asset.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts (day/afternoon available).
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain is an asset.
- Willing to be trained on our specific equipment.
