Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Parts Person to join our team. This role is essential in managing inventory, sourcing parts, and supporting the supply chain operations within a dealership or manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience with procurement processes. Duties
- Manage inventory levels and ensure the accurate tracking of parts using ERP systems and CMMS software
- Source and procure parts through negotiation with suppliers, maintaining strong vendor relationships
- Assist with data entry related to parts ordering, receiving, and inventory updates
- Support demand planning to ensure timely availability of parts for manufacturing or service needs
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to optimize sourcing strategies and improve procurement efficiency
- Maintain knowledge of dealership or manufacturing equipment, including HVAC and mechanical systems, to accurately identify parts requirements
- Operate forklifts safely when handling large or heavy parts, adhering to safety protocols
- Utilize ERP systems for order processing, tracking, and reporting purposes
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting technicians or clients in locating parts quickly and efficiently
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to parts sourcing, inventory management, and procurement processes
Experience
- Prior dealership experience or background in manufacturing is highly preferred
- Proven experience with data entry, purchasing, and supply chain management
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to automotive or industrial equipment is advantageous
- Familiarity with procurement negotiations and sourcing strategies
- Experience working with ERP systems, CMMS software, and demand planning tools
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus
- Knowledge of HVAC systems or other specialized mechanical fields is beneficial
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors, team members, and customers
