Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at Augustana Campus, Camrose.
Augustana Student Success and Accessibility is seeking Proctors, Scribes, and Readers (PSRs) for the upcoming academic year. PSRs apply University of Alberta exam regulations and policies to administer accommodated exams under the University of Alberta's Duty to Accommodate policy. The role of the PSR involves direct contact with students and other University of Alberta employees, requiring diplomacy, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality. Clear, consistent communication and reinforcement of University of Alberta regulations, policies, and procedures are required with students and staff.
Other Information: Augustana Student Accessibility & Success Services assigns shifts based on exam demand, meaning that this role is seasonal, with the busiest periods being midterms and final exams.
Located in Camrose on Treaty 6 territory, Augustana Campus offers a unique learning experience rooted in the liberal arts and embedded in rural Alberta. Home to approximately 900 students, the campus offers undergraduate and graduate programs through the Augustana Faculty and the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. Augustana provides close-knit, supportive learning environments with extensive opportunities for student engagement in athletics, clubs, and campus life—delivering a small-campus experience with a world-class degree.

Invigilates, scribes, and reads for students writing accommodated exams.

Monitors exam rooms and oversees compliance with exam procedures, including verifying students' identification and arranging students' seating.

Answers questions concerning exam procedures, exam discrepancies, and other routine matters, escalating complex or unusual questions.

Troubleshoots exam and hardware issues, reporting suspected academic dishonesty cases and ensuring exam spaces' cleanliness.

Performs other duties as required.

A minimum of a high school diploma is required.

Teaching assistant experience or previous PSR experience is preferred.

Experience working with accessibility-related issues or persons with disabilities is an asset.

Literacy or experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications is an asset.

Ability to multitask and seek solutions to immediate and short-term issues.

Excellent interpersonal skills in high-stress situations.

Careful attention to complex details.
