POSTION: Video & Multimedia Communications Specialist
LOCATION: Millbrook or Eskasoni, Nova Scotia

POSITION SUMMARY
KMK is seeking a skilled and creative Video & Multimedia Communications Specialist to lead the development of high-quality video and multimedia content that supports our communications priorities and strengthens storytelling across Mi’kmaw communities.
This is a hands-on role responsible for the full lifecycle of video production, from concept and planning through filming, editing, and final delivery, while also contributing to broader communications initiatives such as social media, written content, and public messaging.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Leads video production including planning, filming, editing, and post-production. Travels within Nova Scotia to capture interviews, events, and community content, producing video materials for digital platforms. Maintains and organizes video assets.
Supports communications planning and content development, including written materials, social media, and digital content. Provides communications advice, supports media relations and issues management, and contributes to engagement with Mi’kmaw communities and partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post-secondary education in communications, media production, or related field, or equivalent experience.
· Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in videography, multimedia production, or communications.
· Experience in video production (filming, editing, audio) and digital content development.
· Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Experience working with Mi’kmaw and/or Indigenous communities is an asset.
· Candidates are encouraged to submit samples demonstrating videography experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
· Must hold and maintain a valid NS driver’s license. Travel throughout Nova Scotia will be required.
· Potential for occasional work on weekends or evenings.
