We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team as a Lead Project Planner in the hydropower industry. In this Lead Project Planner position, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of projects in a collaborative partnership with a major customer. You will be an active member of the project core team under the responsibility of the Project Director and the Planning Leader.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
· Manage detailed schedules for hydropower EPC projects.
· Build scenarios to optimize schedules and secure delivery while controlling costs.
· Define project strategies with the project core team.
· Review and update project schedules based on the latest changes in strategy, to support decision-making processes.
· Identify deviations from the schedule and facilitate discussions to find solutions
· Proactively identify and address potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and risks, proposing appropriate mitigations to ensure project success at the execution stage.
· Ensure compliance with contractual clauses regarding planning and deliverables.
· Present and discuss project planning and progress to clients and management.
· Prepare planning reports for internal and client use.
· Act as a technical reference in planning for new team members.
Required qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years experience in planning major EPC projects, preferably in the hydropower industry.
· Advanced knowledge of planning and scheduling principles, techniques and methodologies.
· Advanced mastery of Primavera P6.
· Skills in cost control and earned value management.
· Strong leadership and communication skills.
· Fluency in French and English.
· Have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada.
