SEDA is looking for inspiring instructors to deliver speech and debate programming for young people grades 5 – 10 at our Saskatoon summer camps. You will be responsible for providing a fun and educational experience for all participants.
Term: Approximately 115 - 125 hours over 5 weeks (June 26 - July 29). Hours variable based on program delivery. An extension of an additional 100 hours to August 26th could be considered based on applicants’ availability for travel to Regina and Swift Current (travel and accommodation provided), and SEDA’s resource needs for our August camps.
Compensation:
Onboarding & training rate: $17.50 (20 – 25 hrs)
Program preparation & delivery rate: $19.00 (95 – 100 hrs)
The Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Association (SEDA) is a registered non-profit charity, that delivers programs that help young people build and demonstrate real-world communication and critical thinking skills.

- Teaching public speaking and debate skills at camp.
- Providing a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for all participants
- Participating in feedback processes.
Camp Instructors will work from our Saskatoon office (310 Wall Street) and the camp venue (École Canadienne-Française - Pavillon Gustave-Dubois.)
What we’re looking for
- Minimum grade 11 education
- Experience teaching young people grades 5 -10
- Team player with leadership skills/experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable and organized
- Access to a computer/laptop/tablet with reliable internet (some meetings may be virtual)
- Speech or debate experience
- Successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check
