Join a Nursing Role That's Different
At The Sleeve Clinic, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and play a central role in one of the most transformative periods of their lives.
Unlike many healthcare settings, you'll follow patients throughout their surgical journey—from pre-operative preparation to recovery and long-term follow-up—providing education, guidance, and ongoing support along the way.
If you're looking for a role that combines meaningful clinical work, autonomy, flexibility, and genuine patient connection, we'd love to hear from you.
About Us
The Sleeve Clinic is a specialized bariatric surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional care before, during, and long after surgery. Led by Dr. Scott Gmora, Associate Professor of Surgery at McMaster University, our team has helped thousands of patients improve their health through bariatric surgery.
Our approach is highly personalized and relationship-driven. We remain closely connected to our patients for years after surgery, providing a level of continuity and support that is rare in healthcare.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a part-time RN or RPN (with the potential to transition to full-time) to join our clinical team in a hybrid role.
The position combines virtual patient care—including clinical assessments, patient education, follow-up care, and care coordination—with an in-person component at our surgical centre supporting postoperative and occasional preoperative patients.
Working closely with our surgeon and multidisciplinary team, you will manage your own patient caseload, exercise a high degree of clinical judgment, and help patients navigate their surgical journey with confidence. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys patient education, relationship-building, independent clinical decision-making, and a high degree of autonomy.
Unlike many traditional healthcare settings, you'll have the opportunity to follow the same patients over time, witness their progress firsthand, and see the direct impact of your work on their health, confidence, and quality of life.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a nurse who is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working independently. Strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and a genuine passion for patient education are essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, takes initiative, wants to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives and is excited to contribute to the continued growth and evolution of our clinical programNo bariatric experience is required. We provide comprehensive training and support. What matters most is a commitment to exceptional patient care and a desire to grow alongside a collaborative, patient-focused team.
