Special Education Assistant – Canada Summer Jobs Program
We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, patient, engaging, and reliable Special Education Assistant to join our team this summer.
In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and assist with daily living activities. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of our residents by ensuring they receive the care, attention, encouragement, and meaningful engagement they deserve.
This position is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for helping others and wants to make a positive impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with daily living activities and routines
- Accompany residents on outings and community activities
- Engage residents in recreational activities and social interactions to promote well-being and quality of life
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
- Assist with implementing a digital log system to help modernize the workplace and improve communication, safety, and care
- Work collaboratively with staff and caregivers to ensure residents’ needs are met
- Encourage independence, participation, and positive social engagement among residents
Qualifications
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and enthusiastic
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for helping others and improving quality of life
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset, but not required
Eligibility Requirements
The Government of Canada funded this job through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To apply for this job, you must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status in Canada
