About Nitro Industrial
Nitro Industrial is a full-service supplier and service provider to Canada's industrial sector, with deep expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid handling, and industrial maintenance solutions. We're 100% Canadian owned and operated.
The company was founded by David and Barry Sokoloff, carrying forward three generations of hands-on experience in the industrial supply business. That history shows up in how we operate: real technical knowledge behind the counter, a reputation built on personal integrity and long-term relationships, and customers who have been coming back to us for well over a decade.
Our Concord facility is both a retail storefront and a fully equipped service centre. Under one roof, our team builds, repairs, and customizes components of hydraulic and industrial systems, including hoses, power units and filtration assemblies. We are also Gates' largest independent distributor of industrial and hydraulic hoses in Canada, which gives our customers access to top-tier components, faster lead times, and technical support most suppliers can't match.
We keep essential operations running across construction and heavy equipment, food processing, waste management, automotive and manufacturing, aggregate and cement, mining, oil and gas, water treatment, HVAC, and equipment rental. When a machine is down and a crew is standing around waiting, we're the call that gets them moving again.
We recently opened our second branch in Barrie, and we're continuing to grow. Our Google rating sits at 4.9 across more than 250 reviews — and the reviews almost always name a specific person on our team. That's the standard we hire to.
About the Role
We're hiring an experienced Shipper/Receiver for our Concord warehouse. The focus of this role is inbound — receiving, put-away, and the cycle counting that keeps our inventory honest — with support on the shipping side during busy periods.
Everything we sell passes through your hands first, and everything downstream depends on you getting it right: inventory accuracy, order fill rates, and customers getting the correct fitting the first time.
This is a detail-driven role in a fast-moving parts environment. We stock thousands of active SKUs and many of them look nearly identical. If you take pride in catching the discrepancy nobody else caught, you'll do well here.
What You'll Do
Receiving
- Unload inbound freight, courier deliveries, and local vendor drop-offs
- Verify incoming product against purchase orders and packing slips: part number, quantity, description, and condition
- Identify and document discrepancies — shortages, overages, substitutions, damage — and escalate to purchasing before product hits the shelf
- Enter receipts accurately into our inventory system
- Process vendor returns and RMAs
Put-Away & Stocking
- Label, bag, and bin incoming product
- Put away to correct bin locations and keep bin data accurate
- Keep the receiving area, dock, and aisles clean, organized, and safe
Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy
- Perform cycle counts on assigned bins and product groups as scheduled
- Count on demand when a discrepancy surfaces — a short pick, a negative on-hand, or a count that doesn't match the system
- Investigate variances rather than just correcting them: check adjacent bins, recent receipts, and open orders to find the root cause
- Document and report count results and adjustments
- Participate in periodic full physical inventories
Shipping Support
- Pick, pack, and stage outbound orders during peak periods and to cover absences
- Prepare shipping documentation and coordinate carrier pickups as needed
- Support the counter and service team when the floor gets busy
General
- Operate an electric pallet jack safely, and a counterbalance forklift where trained and authorized, including documented pre-shift equipment inspections
- Follow all OHSA and company health and safety procedures
- Other responsibilities as necessary
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2–3 years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience, ideally in distribution, industrial supply, or manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail with part numbers, quantities, and paperwork — this is the core of the job, not a nice-to-have
- Comfortable working on a computer: inventory system or WMS data entry, email, basic spreadsheets
- Comfortable with sustained physical work: frequent lifting and carrying of cartons up to approximately 50 lbs, with occasional heavier items such as hose reels and power units handled using equipment or a second person
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for a full shift
- Able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
- Available for the full schedule, including alternating Saturday mornings (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
- Reliable transportation to our Concord facility
Considered an asset
- Forklift training or current certification — strongly preferred.
- Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid power, fasteners, plumbing, or industrial MRO
- Experience with bin location systems or barcode scanning
- Experience in a branch or counter environment where the warehouse and customers are in the same building
Why This Role Is Worth a Look
- Room to grow. Two branches and expanding. For someone who wants it, the warehouse is a genuine path into hose and power unit assembly in our service centre, inventory control, purchasing, or our front counter.
- You'll matter here. We're a team where customers know people by name. What you do gets noticed.
Compensation & Benefits
- $21.00 – $24.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Health and dental coverage after 3 months
- 2 weeks paid vacation
- Consistent daytime schedule — no midnights, no rotating shifts. Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus a half-day every other Saturday (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Apply through Indeed with your resume. In your application, please tell us briefly:
- What kind of product you were receiving in your most recent role
- Roughly how many receipts or inbound shipments you handled per day
