Childcare Kitchen/on Floor Educator Coverage (Part Time)
Position Summary
As our Kitchen Staff Member, you will play an important role in supporting our childcare program by preparing nutritious meals and snacks while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
Our daily hot lunch is prepared by a local caterer and delivered frozen. The successful candidate will be responsible for heating and serving the meals according to food safety guidelines. Additional responsibilities include preparing healthy morning and afternoon snacks, washing and cutting fresh fruits and vegetables, portioning meals, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organized, and sanitary.
In addition to kitchen responsibilities, this position offers opportunities to work alongside our educators in the classroom. You may provide coverage for staff breaks, planning time, vacation or sick days, and other staffing needs. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both food preparation and working directly with children.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the catered hot lunch by cooking frozen meals according to provided instructions and food safety standards.
- Portion and serve lunch to classrooms.
- Prepare nutritious morning and afternoon snacks.
- Wash, cut, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables for meals and snacks.
- Accommodate children's food allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with grocery ordering.
- Receive and properly store food deliveries.
- Follow Public Health food safety regulations and childcare policies.
- Provide classroom support when needed, including:
- Covering educator breaks and planning time.
- Filling in for educators who are absent due to illness, vacation, or other leave.
- Assisting educators with daily routines, activities, and supervision.
- Supporting a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties as needed.

Pay: $19.60-$20.00 per hour
