Job Summary
Supports employee relations, HR operations, and compliance including investigations, onboarding and offboarding, leave administration, payroll support, and benefits administration. Serves as front-line HR contact for employees and managers regarding policies, programs, payroll, and HR-related inquiries. Ensures accurate HR documentation, supports journal entries and reporting, and maintains compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation. Partners with HR colleagues on employee relations and performance management matters and contributes to HR projects, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Essential Functions

Support employee relations activities including investigations, documentation, and issue resolution.

Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers while promoting positive employee relations.

Interpret HR policies and procedures and provide guidance to employees and managers; recommend updates to HR leadership as appropriate.

Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation.

Conduct onboarding activities including new employee orientation, exit interviews, and employee engagement surveys.

Respond to employee HR-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Prepare HR documentation including offer letters, promotion letters, transfers, contract amendments, etc

Administer leaves of absence including parental leave, short-term disability, and long-term disability cases.

Provide HR guidance to employees and leaders on HR and business-related matters using sound HR practices.

Partner with HR colleagues on employee relations and performance management cases; escalate legal matters when required.

Support payroll processing by preparing and validating required documentation for bi-weekly payroll.

Support financial reporting processes, including payroll journal entries and related reconciliations.

Assist with benefits administration including health, pension, STD, and LTD programs.

Coordinate HR-related events and employee engagement initiatives.

Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and support workplace safety compliance.

Prepare HR reports and other ad hoc assignments as required by HR management.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree required or
-
Equivalent Experience Required

4-6 years in Human Resources with Generalist responsibility required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Functional expertise supporting manufacturing operations.

Demonstrated project and time management skills, with an ability to set and maintain priorities to meet deadlines.

Strong knowledge and experience in Federal and Provincial Law, Compliance.

Expertise in organizational development, organizational structure, and change management.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in short time frames.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to make good decisions quickly

Highly results oriented.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)

Experience working globally a plus

Preferred Languages
This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week (3 days per week). Compensation will be prorated based on hours worked.

The annual salary for this position is:
$52,000.00 to $62,400.00
