Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to provide technical expertise and support for industrial automation, controls, and industrial networking solutions across Canada. In this customer-facing role, you will collaborate with customers, sales teams, OEMs, distributors, and system integrators to design automation architectures, develop proof-of-concept solutions, commission and troubleshoot automation systems, optimize machine performance, and deliver technical demonstrations and training while supporting projects throughout the complete sales and implementation lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies in a collaborative, innovative environment while travelling up to 30% across Canada.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or factory automation.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial networking, machine automation, and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, STL, or similar programming languages).
- Experience with Siemens SIMATIC, TIA Portal, industrial networking, and factory automation platforms is highly preferred.
- Experience designing automation architectures, proof-of-concept solutions, commissioning equipment, troubleshooting control systems, and optimizing machine performance.
- Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel throughout Canada up to 30%.
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
- CCNP, Cisco CyberOps, Google Cybersecurity, or similar technical certifications are considered strong assets.
