Front-End Developer, Driver Risk Management Platform
3-Month Contract | Hybrid | Immediate Start
The opportunity
We're building a first-of-its-kind global driver risk management solution, an intelligent platform that fuses real-time data, behavioural analytics, and immersive training mechanics to make roads safer at scale. This is greenfield territory, and you'll be shaping it from the ground up. We need a creative, technically sharp Front-End Developer who brings gaming experience to help us craft an interface that's as thrilling to use as it is powerful. If you love turning bold ideas into living, interactive prototypes, this is your playground.
The Front-End Developer will report to the Media Manager in our Toronto offices.
Key responsibilities
- Rapidly build proofs of concept and interactive prototypes that bring new gameplay-driven training ideas to life, testing what's possible and shaping the product's direction.
- Build responsive, high-performance UI components with a strong focus on animations, transitions, and game-like interaction patterns.
- Collaborate with UX designers and product leads to translate wireframes into polished, accessible front-end experiences.
- Develop gamified training modules, including scoring systems, progress mechanics, and animated feedback loops.
- Apply internationalisation best practices to support multilingual content delivery across regional deployments.
Skills & experience
- 2+ years of front-end development experience, with a demonstrable portfolio including at least one significant gaming or gamification project.
- A knack for prototyping fast, turning rough concepts into working proofs of concept that prove out an idea quickly.
- Deep understanding of animation and rendering performance, from basic transitions through to complex real-time visual systems.
- Proven ability to build gamified user experiences: scoring systems, reward loops, progress tracking, and interactive feedback.
- Familiarity with modern front-end architecture patterns and component-based development.
- Experience with 3D assets is an asset.
What we're looking for
- A product mindset, you think about user behaviour and engagement, not just code correctness.
- The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, start-up-style environment and deliver production-ready work within tight timelines.
- An experimenter at heart, someone energized by building proofs of concept, iterating fast, and seeing ideas come alive on screen.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical decisions clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- A genuine passion for interactive design, gaming mechanics, and creating experiences that keep users hooked.
Compensation
This position pays $40–$60/hour (commensurate with experience), based on a 37.5-hour work week.
To apply
Please submit your CV alongside a portfolio or links to relevant gaming, gamified, or interactive front-end work. Show us something you've built that you're proud of, we want to see your ideas in motion.
