C&C Accessibility Solutions is recruiting a reliable, compassionate, and dedicated Live-In Caregiver / Support Worker for a long-term, private residential placement in SW Calgary.
The client works in Calgary’s fast-paced hospitality industry, which means their work hours shift and the weekly schedule likes to keep things interesting. Because their work calendar changes based on major local events, we are looking for a support worker who can roll with the punches. If you are someone whose middle name is "Flexible" (or at least someone who doesn't mind if the morning and evening shift blocks shift a bit from week to week based on a hospitality event calendar), you are exactly who we are looking for!
This is a 6-hour-a-day split shift, 5 days a week. It is perfect for a dedicated caregiver who loves a stable, respectful home environment but possesses that magical level of professional adaptability. Plus, you get the ultimate perk: completely avoiding Calgary's wild rental market with a fully private, rent-free basement suite.
The Exact Daily Duties (No Guesswork)
Morning Block (4 Hours) – Getting the Day Started:
- Transfers: Safely transferring the client from bed to a wheelchair using a mechanical power lift system.
- Personal Care & Hygiene: Assisting with the full morning routine, including showering, grooming, brushing teeth, and dressing.
- Health & Mobility: Guiding and supporting the client through prescribed physical therapy and range-of-motion exercises.
- Fueling Up: Preparing breakfast and clearing up the kitchen afterward.
Evening Block (2 Hours) – Winding Down:
- Nighttime Routine: Assisting with evening hygiene and getting ready for bed.
- Transfers: Safely transferring the client from the wheelchair back into bed using the mechanical power lift.
- Tucking In: Ensuring everything is safely set up and comfortable for the night.
Around the House (Ongoing):
- Organization: Keeping the main living environment clean, tidy, and highly organized.
- Household Safety: Maintaining a strict, completely drug-and-alcohol-free (sober) environment.
What We Offer
- Competitive Pay: $23.00 per hour for 30 hours a week.
- Rent-Free Living: A fully private, beautiful basement suite all to yourself to save on living expenses.
- Professional Environment: A respectful, direct, and supportive placement where a good sense of humor is highly valued.
Requirements
- Genuine experience in personal caregiving, disability support, or a strong, enthusiastic willingness to learn.
- Experience with (or complete openness to being trained on) mechanical power lifts.
- High Adaptability: True flexibility with shift timing to accommodate a changing hospitality work schedule.
- Punctual, dependable, and fiercely organized.
