The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Bartender. A member of our Food & Beverage team, your organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with your eye for detail and warm & genuine personality will help create extraordinary experiences for guests in our restaurant & lounge. You have a talent for crafting delicious cocktails that make guests swoon and settle for nothing short of perfection in every item that is served to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
- Take beverage order from servers and process for delivery at the service station.
- Take food and drink orders directly from bar, and lounge table guests as needed.
- Perform bussing and hostess tasks as necessary, including during breaks or times of low volume.
- Utilizing appropriate upselling & cross selling techniques to enhance guest dining experience.
- Maintaining complete knowledge of all menu items and special promotions.
- Setting up and maintaining cleanliness and sanitary condition of bar area.
- Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Requisitioning and restocking bar with liquor and supplies.
- Preparing and maintaining a stock of garnishes.
- Collecting and processing all guest payments, following proper cash handling procedures.
- Securing liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
- Professional image, with well kept and correctly worn uniform and excellent personal hygiene.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Serving It Right Certification.
- Food Safe Level 1 considered an asset.
- Knowledge of restaurant POS (preferably Micros) and debit/credit machines.
- Excellent knowledge of beverage preparation of cocktails, mixed drinks, wines & spirits.
- Able to work with a sense of urgency and maintain accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Must be self directed and motivated with exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar capacity, upscale hotel environment preferred.
- Must already possess necessary documentation to work legally in Canada.
