Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and goods across various routes primarily in Winnipeg. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to transportation regulations. The Truck Driver will play a vital role in ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle operation and cargo handling.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks and heavy equipment for the transportation of freight across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo using a Jack.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and other required documentation
- Operate truck during sunny, winter and raining weathers.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating freight trucks and heavy equipment such as forklifts
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and reporting issues
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks, including lifting heavy freight when necessary
