JOB DESCRIPTION:
HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Plumber/HVAC & Refrigeration Technician on behalf of our client, Equinox Gold, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have Red Seal Journeyperson Plumbing certificate is required, a minimum of 3 years Journeyperson plumbing experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment and previous demonstrated experience performing routine and scheduled maintenance on furnaces and HVAC systems is desired.
Reporting to the Site Services Maintenance Supervisor, the Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all camp and site services infrastructures.
This position is located at the Mine site, working on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance and tune ups on plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Perform repairs to basins, toilets, flush boxes, showers, grease traps, etc.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on furnaces and HVAC systems.
- Replace defective parts (motors, compressors, thermostats).
- Respond to calls to diagnose malfunctions and repair Refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical components in refrigeration systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, and wiring schematics.
- Troubleshoot and install new refrigeration system and components.
- Work with the procurement department to keep adequate maintenance spares for the camp.
- Perform daily camp checks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure that work detailed on work order has been completed to meet safety standards.
- Provide feedback improvement suggestions to the supervisor and implement those that are within your ability.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all installation repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
- Demonstrate flexibility responding to emergencies and rapidly changing needs.
- Knowledge of Plumbing & Pumps would be considered an asset.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Red Seal Journeyperson Plumbing certificate is required.
- Red Seal Journeyperson Refrigeration & Air Conditioning certificate is desired.
- A minimum of 3 years Journeyperson plumbing experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment is required.
- Previous demonstrated experience performing routine and scheduled maintenance on furnaces and HVAC systems is desired.
- Experience working in a remote industrial environment is preferred.

- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements at remote sites.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and train apprentices.
- Strong knowledge of the OHS, mining, and construction regulations.

- The ability to work in a multi-discipline, multi-tasking, team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver license and a driver’s abstract.
- Problem solving skills to address unexpected challenges and emergencies.
