Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Advanced Pilot
Osprey Integrity Ltd is looking for RPAS/Drone/UAV pilots. If you love flying drones, exploring new places, have a passion for technology and innovation, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!
We are looking for a talented and eager RPAS pilot to join our crews working on various projects like Oil & Gas Facility Inspections & thermography, operating in confined spaces, industrial facilities, production facilities and remote locations across Western Canada.
Additionally, Applicants must reside between Calgary to Fort McMurray to facilitate rotational coordination.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work alongside PIC or team lead, performing the duties of a pilot, visual observer, or crew member.
- Coordinate drone operations in the field with PIC.
- Assist in setting up and taking down drones for missions. (ability to lift/carry 50lbs)
- Conduct pre-flight checks.
- Continuously evaluate airspace and surrounding areas for potential hazards.
- Documentation and maintenance on RPAS, company vehicles, and field equipment.
- Comply to all safety requirements of OH&S legislations, clients, and Transport Canada Regulations.
- Assist with data review, analytics, processing, and reporting.
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, oil & gas sites, urban areas, and more.
- Proficient at multi-tasking.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate from Transport Canada.
- 2+ Years experience flying drones.
- Knowledge of drone technology, systems, and applications.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude and a sense of adventure.
- Safety first mindset.
- Class 5 driver’s license.
- Valid ROC-A (Restricted Radio Operators Certificate – Aeronautical)
- H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, Wildlife Awareness, CSTS or CSO.
- Confined spaces, fall protection/arrest, & TDG.
Bonus credentials:
- Level 1 Complex Operations Certificate (L1C)
- BVLOS experience
- 3+ Oil & Gas experience
- 3-5 Years industrial inspections (Visual, UT, EMAT)
- Thermography Level 1 or higher
- CEDO, MT2, or PT2 certification
- Fly-in/Fly-out experience
- Heavy truck/equipment management and practical maintenance experience with small engines and pressure systems.
This position may be subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. RPAS pilot/crewmember must be able to work in hot and cold environments, availability to travel for work, with likelihood of working away from home for periods at a time.
