Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team. This is a hands-on position responsible for managing all aspects of the company's accounting functions for a commercial real estate portfolio.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in full-cycle accounting and be capable of working independently while providing accurate and timely financial reporting to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete full-cycle accounting for multiple companies and properties.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile rent rolls and tenant accounts.
- Prepare and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.
- Perform variance analysis and provide financial reporting to management.
- Manage fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and asset acquisitions/disposals.
- Prepare working papers and schedules for year-end audits and Notice to Reader (NTR) engagements.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and government agencies.
- Prepare GST/PST filings and other statutory remittances.
- Maintain organized accounting records and corporate files.
- Assist with cash flow management, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- CPA designation preferred; equivalent accounting experience will be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of senior accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with commercial real estate accounting and property management.
- Thorough understanding of rent rolls, operating costs, CAM recoveries, budgets, and fixed asset management.
- Experience preparing audit and Notice to Reader (NTR) working papers.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple entities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Pay: $65,825.36-$110,000.00 per year
